As a general rule, we recommend replacing your helmet every 3 years, depending on how often you use it and how well it’s been looked after. There’s one important exception: if you’ve had a crash and your helmet has taken a significant impact, you should replace it straight away, even if it looks fine. Damage to the protective structure isn’t always visible from the outside.
