The path to meaningful products: from scratch to the Golden Delta
Last night at the ADI-FAD Awards Ceremony Closca Fuga was awarded with the precious Golden Delta for Product Design. It's an amazing recognition not only for us here at Closca, but also for the biking community and the commuters.
When we designed our bike helmet with our creative partner CuldeSac (culdesac.es) we thought of those who choose bicycle as their transportation alternative and do not want to compromise their style.
We focused on people, and that led us to design.
We started from scratch and rethought what a helmet should be and what it should mean to wear a safety accessory. Our partners at CuldeSac showd us the path of design focused on our customers and that completely changed our processes. We thought functionality was key and started working on a foldable helmet that everyone could fit into their bags.
But designing innovation did not meet our requiremet level. That a product fulfils its function to perfection is always a good objective. That a product makes us fall in love is a great challenge. That's why our products are so simple, minimalistic and elegant.
We always say we're here to design new attitudes and we're proud that Fuga is our first contestant to make the change into more friendly, awared and people-focused cities.
The Golden Delta from ADI-FAD (adifad.org) is a boost for us to keep on looking for new design opportunities and a great recognition to the bicycle community.
