Summer changes the way we move. We travel more, spend hours walking and discover new cities almost without realizing it. In this context, a reusable water bottle is no longer simply a container. It becomes a tool for exploring, reducing plastic consumption and connecting with a global community.

But how can an app help you find water anywhere in the world? What is the difference between a Travel Bottle and a Minimal Bottle? And why are more companies, brands and communities turning personalized water bottles into an extension of their identity?

An app to find public water fountains anywhere in the world

Finding drinking water while travelling should be simple. Yet when we do not know a city, locating a public fountain can be more difficult than expected. Technology can bridge the gap between the infrastructure that already exists and the people who want to use it.

The Closca Water App currently brings together more than 200,000 public fountains and refill points around the world. In just a few seconds, users can discover where to refill a reusable water bottle without having to buy another plastic bottle.

The map is also constantly expanding. The community adds more than 300 new fountains every month, verifies locations and helps the next person find water nearby. More than an app, it is a collaborative network built one refill at a time.

When a personalized water bottle also tells a story

A water bottle is present in many of our everyday routines. It travels inside a backpack, sits on a desk and accompanies us to meetings, workouts and daily journeys. That constant presence also makes it a medium through which identity can be expressed.

More brands, creative studios, companies and content creators now see a premium water bottle as more than a functional product. They use it to translate their visual language, strengthen a community or create an object that genuinely represents their world.

One example is our collaboration with Watif, a current-affairs podcast defined by spontaneity, humour and a distinctive visual identity. Together, we developed a collection of stickers to personalize the Closca Travel Bottle, translating the podcast’s language into an icon of contemporary design.

The result is not simply a bottle carrying a logo. It is a piece that connects a community, a content platform and a particular way of interpreting the present.

Personalizing water bottles with stickers, without the usual limitations

Personalizing a stainless steel water bottle has traditionally meant adapting a design to the limitations of each technique. Screen printing and laser engraving offer precise and durable results, but certain colours, compositions and graphic languages can become difficult to reproduce.

Long-lasting adhesive stickers open up a different creative territory. They make it possible to work with shapes, illustrations, multiple colours and freer compositions across the surface of a bottle. Their integrated finish makes the artwork appear almost directly applied to the steel, like a tattoo on the product.

We explored this new format together with Ana Cervera, translating her visual identity onto the Closca Minimal Bottle. The personalization preserves the calm and aesthetic clarity that define her project, turning each bottle into a distinctive piece without altering the essence of its design.

Every collaboration is also a learning process. Working with Ana allowed us to explore how an apparently simple surface can become a space for creativity, sensitivity and personal expression.

Personalized water bottles for companies, brands and partners

Personalization is also transforming the way companies connect with their teams, clients and communities. Unlike corporate items designed for occasional use, a well-designed reusable water bottle can become part of everyday life and represent a brand over a much longer period.

A personalized water bottle for companies can become part of a campaign, an event, a limited edition, a cultural collaboration or a loyalty initiative. It can feature a discreet logo, a complete illustration or a collection of stickers created specifically for a particular community.

The possibilities vary depending on the project. Laser engraving offers precision and restraint; screen printing translates recognizable visual identities; and long-lasting stickers provide greater freedom for developing narratives, characters, colours and graphic compositions.

For Closca, collaborating with a partner is not simply about applying an image to a bottle. It is about understanding the concept and identifying the format that represents it most effectively, while preserving the design, functionality and quality of the original product.

Travel Bottle or Minimal Bottle: how to choose the right model

The Travel Bottle and the Minimal Bottle share the same philosophy, but respond to different needs. Choosing between them depends mainly on how, where and why the bottle will be used.

Travel Bottle: designed to move with you

The Closca Travel Bottle features a patented silicone band that allows it to be attached to the handle of a handbag, backpack or suitcase without taking up space inside. It is designed for people who are constantly on the move and want to keep their bottle easily accessible.

Its design has received two Delta Awards and has been recognized by international media as an accessory that combines functionality with sophistication. It has also appeared in collaborations with fashion brands and at internationally relevant events such as Bridal Fashion Week.

Minimal Bottle: a clean and essential surface

The Closca Minimal Bottle retains Closca’s award-winning design language while removing the outer band to create a cleaner silhouette. Its smooth surface broadens the possibilities for personalization and makes it particularly suitable for continuous designs, stickers, screen printing and engraving.

The optimization of its structure and production also makes Closca design accessible to projects with more limited budgets, without compromising its materials or essential performance.

What both bottles have in common

Both the Travel Bottle and the Minimal Bottle are made from stainless steel and feature double-wall thermal insulation. Their caps use an internal thread, preventing the contact area from being exposed when the bottle is opened and creating a more hygienic drinking experience.

Both models are available in different capacities, colours and metallic finishes. The difference is not one of quality, but of use: the Travel Bottle prioritizes external portability, while the Minimal Bottle emphasizes visual simplicity and versatility for personalization.

Two interpretations of the same design: external portability or essential minimalism.

Cities are also building a global refill network

Sustainable hydration no longer depends exclusively on individual decisions. More cities are beginning to understand that access to drinking water is also part of creating public spaces that are healthier, more liveable and better prepared for the people who move through them.

Seattle, for example, has installed seven new free refill stations in the city centre. The initiative makes it easier for residents and visitors to refill reusable water bottles, reduces dependence on single-use packaging and improves access to water during the hottest months of the year.

This kind of infrastructure changes the experience of travelling. We walk further, spend more time in public spaces and explore cities without necessarily following a fixed route. Being able to locate a nearby fountain allows us to remain hydrated without depending on another disposable plastic bottle.

A network of fountains, an app that makes them visible and a community that adds new locations together create a freer and more responsible way of exploring.

Refilling a bottle turns public infrastructure into part of a more sustainable travel experience.

A bottle for exploring, connecting and expressing identity

Travelling has always been about discovering new places. Perhaps today it should also be about leaving those places exactly as we found them. Carrying a reusable water bottle, locating a public fountain and avoiding another plastic container are small gestures, but they acquire a different dimension when repeated on a global scale.

Personalization adds another layer to that relationship. A bottle can represent a person, a company, a podcast, a creative studio or a community. It can become a medium for telling a story without losing the function for which it was designed.

Because hydration no longer means simply drinking water. It also means moving freely, reducing the impact of our habits, connecting with others and choosing objects designed to accompany us for longer.
